Fran's Walk Home
Some of you might remember Fran Camosse (VARTS 2008). He's an amazing guy who has turned his life into an adventure. Recently, he walked across country starting in Newport Oregon and ending at his home in Massachusetts. You can read about his travels at mywalkhome.com. Way to go Fran!

Academic Showcase
An Update on the Academic Showcase:
Rose Sandberg did in fact win the Art category of the Academic Showcase. So our earlier reporting on this was in error. It just shows you can't trust the web. Rose won for her video project. (I don't have a link yet to that video - please Rose, let's see that project again!) but here is a pic of the lovely Rose herself.

And here is that sweet video: Grenadine, by Rose Sandberg
Hey everyone,
I just want to mention that there was a handful of Visual Arts students who submitted work into the Academic Showcase. Unfortunately the judges of the work from SAAHP didn't award any prizes to art students, but everyone's work was fabulous! Everyone deserves congrats for putting great work in and showing it to the rest of the school!

Is the Art Society Dead?
Years ago, the Visual Arts program had an active students club called the Art Society. Now it seems that there is a growing interest to form a new student group dedicated to the Visual Arts. Alison Evans, one of our terrific VARTS majors, is imagining a group which will organize student exhibitions, trips and activities. If you are interested in helping get this student group going - please contact Alison!
